It costs a lot of money to run Buzz-AH! We hire Bryn Coch School hall as a rehearsal venue for ten months of the year – once a week (excluding holidays) for nine of them and twice per week in the run-up to the annual show. We engage the services of a top-class professional, award-winning, show-director and choreographer and a vocal coach/musical director to ensure that we reach the highest possible standards. We perform in a major theatrical venue – the Sir Anthony Hopkins Auditorium in Theatre Clwyd – with professional sound and lighting, up to sixteen throat mikes, a very experienced stage-manager and all the props and costumes we need to present each of our songs as dramatically and effectively as possible.
All that costs many thousands of pounds – far more than can be recouped from monthly subs and ticket sales. To remain viable, Buzz-AH! relies on the support of all its members and their friends and families to help raise the much-needed funds to make ends meet. This they do by participating in a range of charitable events throughout the year. This page is just one way we have of acknowledging that effort and saying how grateful we are to everyone who participates, be it by bag-packing in Sainsbury’s or taking part in the annual Mold Santa-Dash, be it the annual Pier-to-Pier Walk from Colwyn Bay to Llandudno, or by supporting Carol and Sian Francis and their amazing family when they put on their great Rock ‘n’ Roll nights for us. Without the efforts of all these marvellous people, Buzz-AH! simply couldn’t continue to exist.
So on behalf of Buzz-AH! we say a massive THANK YOU to everyone who has in any way helped Buzz-AH! raise the money it needs! From now on we intend to attach posts to this page as each of these events takes place. We hope you will be inspired by the efforts of all the people who made them possible, and if you haven’t yet, that you will want to add YOUR fundraising muscle to the corporate effort to keep Buzz-AH!’s amazing show on the road!
On Thursday 25th February 2016, Mold Rotary Club President Leslie Butt paid our regular rehearsal a visit in order to present our founder Cath Pugh with a cheque for £250 – part of the proceeds from the club’s Christmas Charity street collection.
